Nato a Licciana Nardi (MS) nel 1944, risiede alla Spezia.
Nel 1960 ha iniziato la sua attività di artista, dedicandosi prevalentemente alle arti visive.
Ha fatto parte del gruppo “Lionello Venturi”, nato alla Spezia nel 1961.
In questi primi anni Sessanta si è dedicato anche alla ricerca sperimentale nell’ambito della fotografia e del cinema di animazione progettando film a passo ridotto.
Nel 1963 ha allestito alcune scenografie per lavori teatrali.
E’ stato socio della Promotrice di Belle Arti di Torino, del Centro studi scambi culturali internazionali di Roma e fondatore del gruppo Arte Grottesca nato a Pisa-Milano nel 1964.
Nel 1965 ha soggiornato a Parigi dove frequentò lo studio di alcuni artisti tra cui l’astrattista Folmer.
Dai primi anni Sessanta sino alla metà degli anni Ottanta la sua ricerca si è svolta nell’ambito dell’arte figurativa, mentre in questi ultimi quindici anni il suo interesse è rivolto all’arte astratta.
Ha esposto prevalentemente in Germania - Frankfurt Am Mein, Dusseldorf, Amburg e Munich - dove negli anni Novanta aprì uno studio.

Born in Licciana Nardi (MS) in 1944, he lives in La Spezia.
He began his artistic activity in 1960, mainly devoted to visual arts.
He was a member of the “Lionello Venturi” group, which has been set up in La Spezia in 1961.
In the early Sixties he also developed experimental research in photography and film animation, working on small-gauge films.
In 1963 he created theatrical scenery for stage productions.
He has been part of the Promotrice di Belle Arti of Turin, of the Centro Studi Scambi Culturali Internazionali of Rome, and founder of the Arte Grottesca group which was set up in Pisa and Milan in 1964. In 1965 he resided in Paris, where he spent time in the studios of some painters and sculptors, among which that of the abstract artist Folmer.
From the early Sixties up to the mid-Eighties he developed his figurative art, while in the last fifteen years his interest shifted to abstract art. He has exhibited mainly in Germany - Dusseldorf, Frankfurt Am Mein, Hamburg and Munich -, where he opened a studio in the Nineties.
